Football Weekends is the first magazine solely dedicated to European and UK football tourism.
It offers engaging and informative reviews and features of interest to the tens of thousands of people who love travelling to watch the game – and the many more who would like to!
Its objective is to share experiences of fascinating cities and super stadiums – and give knowledge to provide an unforgettable, hassle-free trip.
Football Weekends cuts straight to the all important information – how to get there, the sights to see, the best bars plus a matchday stadium guide. From Barcelona to Berlin, Dortmund to Debrecen, it will cover them all through reports, photos and maps.
Publisher Jim Stewart has attended hundreds of games at stadiums across UK and Europe. The absence of a suitable guide to help create football trips, particularly overseas, prompted first a website of useful info and now this magazine.
He said: “Building a weekend around watching a football match is becoming ever more popular, both at home and abroad.
“Many fans are keen to experience different venues and Football Weekends hopes to help make those hopes and dreams a reality.
“We don’t offer the usual tourist guides. Our features give the best advice on how to make the most of a matchday – as well as suggesting other places to visit when you’re away from home.”
The European giants will be featured but so will clubs from across the football spectrum, both on the continent and in the UK.
Each issue is around 100 pages and includes:
- European city guides
- English and Scottish city guides
- Special feature on one country
- Traveller’s Tales
- Nostalgia: grounds past and present
- Stadium news
- Top ten features
- Plus much more.
Football Weekends is published 10 times a year – monthly, other than June/July and December/January. It is available in newsagents from the start of each month, and on sale through this website.
